Meet the Voyage Staff

Genna Wirth, MPA - Executive Director 

Genna Wirth is the Executive Director of Voyage. She was excited to be named the ED in late June of 2019 after working with Voyage since 2016. Her journey with Voyage began through an internship at UNCW while completing a Bachelor’s degree in political science. That internship turned into three additional internships as she worked to complete a Master’s degree in Public Administration at UNCW, focusing in nonprofit management and public management. Genna truly feels that Voyage is the perfect platform for her to pursue her passion of helping others reach their potential and set themselves up for success. In her spare time, Genna enjoys hanging out with her friends and family and going to the beach.

Justin Kay - Program Coordinator

Originally from the Washington D.C. area, Justin is a 23-year-old recent graduate of UNCW. He is passionate about Voyage and expanding its footprint in the community. Justin founded his own nonprofit organization, umttr (You Matter) at 16 after the loss of his friend to suicide. He is pursuing a Masters of Public Administration degree in order to further his knowledge about nonprofit management and government relations. In his free time, you'll find Justin in the gym or on the basketball court!

Brenda Galloway - Community Outreach Coordinator

Brenda Galloway, born and raised in Wilmington, N.C.,retired hairstylist of 35 yrs. has a focus on the development of our youth, empowering them to recognize their potential to accomplish their goals in life. She leads Voyage Youth Leadership Council, who initiated  Portia Hines park improvements,which resulted in $800,000. Her social capital grants trust, and access into the lives of community members. She's big on fitness: physical, mental,and spiritual.  Her message in the community is to love, believe, and advocate for what is right. She loves singing, line dancing,travel, and spends most of her time helping others better navigate in society. Brenda is preparing a book on her life's journey that will be an amazing read!

Cordia Sloan - Community Outreach Advocate

From the Northside, Cordia is 52 years old, a very loving and caring mother and grandmother, who is passionate about life and people as a whole. Because of her experiences, she wants others to know and feel that they can turn a negative into a positive and have someone there that they can count on. In her spare time, she likes to read, write, cook, sew, and spend time with friends and family!

Wanda Debose-Green - Community Outreach Advocate

Wanda is born and bred from the Northside of Wilmington. She feels very fortunate to be able to work as a Community Outreach Advocate for Voyage. She is thankful and finds it very gratifying to be able to interact with the children at DC Virgo Preparatory Academy on a daily basis. She lives for school intercession with the children at the Hemenway Center. Her hobbies include cooking, entertaining, and playing bid whist.

Qwan Hayes - Community Outreach Advocate

Qwan Hayes is the newest addition to the BRC team! She is 28 years old, born and raised in Wilmington, and enjoys riding horses in her free time. Qwan is going to be working on expanding the Community Outreach Advocate Model outside of the Northside community and into other schools in Wilmington, specifically the Eastside of downtown.
